Regular tuns are relatively smaller in size and often lost in the finished salad. You can consider using Albacore tune which is of superior quality and texture. It is with large chunks of firm white meat. The best texture of Albacore makes it more interesting for the tuna pasta salad. Go for Albacore packed in water than oil. This gives a fresh taste. You can take two 6-ounce cans for six entree portions. Use it as an appetizer for four servings.
Choose penne, small or large shells, curly pastas, tortellini or rigatoni or any type with grooves or tubes for the pasta. Pick the ones which evenly distributes throughout the dressing of the salad.
